Description: Constructed in 1938 and opened on May 19 as the Boro Theatre, the Bethesda Theater is a historic art deco movie house that has been converted into a premier off-Broadway performance venue. Bolstered by County incentives, the Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment group partnered with Bozzuto to renovate the facility which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Key to the project is the addition of state-of-the-art theater technologies while both preserving the historic structure and interior finishes restored to their 1930’s splendor.
