Project: Old Convention Center Location: Disctrict of Columbia, Washington Client: Hines Interest, LLP/Archstone Smith Date: 5/21/2007 12:00:00 AM Description: The Old Convention Center site is getting a new look. The 10 acre site in Washington DC is being re-developed into a mixed use site.
The project consists of 2 office buildings, 2 apartment buildings, 2 condominium buildings, common areas and below grade parking. Scope: Noise criteria (NC) for noise level of HVAC; Sound Transmission Class (STC) thru walls, floors, windows and doors; Impact Isolation Class (IIC) of floors; Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of finish materials to absorb sound; Reverb Time (T60) to quantify reverberation in large spaces; Decibel level day night (Ldn) to quantify environmental noise.
The project is anticipated to generate 7,584 construction period jobs, 5,212 permanent jobs as well as 30 million a year in new tax revenue.
The plan for the site is 300,000sf of retail space which includes restaurants, a grocery store and a variety of retailers; 1,377 units for housing, 70,000sf for hotel, 500,000sf of office space, approximately 1700 parking spaces below grade and space for a new library and public plaza.
