Project: Potomac Yard Fire Station and Housing Location: Alexandria, Virginia Client: Alexandria Housing Date: 2/13/2007 12:00:00 AM Description: The project consists of residential units being constructed over a Fire Station consisting of 4 fire engine bays all within close proximity of US Route 1, CSX Rail and Reagan National Airport. Scope: Traffic Noise Modeling at US Route 1. 24-hour Railway noise measurement survey. Aircraft Noise Contour Evaluation and Building shell analysis. Additionally, acoustic noise control design is needed to limit noise from the fire station that could include sirens, fire trucks, drill rooms and other similiar noise generating space and equipment. The intent: to provide a practical solution to mitigate airborne and structure borne noise generated from the fire station.
